* Close One Eye and Open the Other

.
As I closed one eye,
all my pains turned into tears, running down my cheeks…
and as I opened the other eye,
I tasted the flavour of love which drew the image of a smile across my face…

As I closed an eye,
I washed my earthly desires off my heart…
and as I opened the other,
I arrived at the hallowed beauty of the Beloved,
removing the curse from the gate of my heart, just with a glance…

Closing the eye of earthly desire…
Looking away from the world and all that is therein…
Opening the other eye, that sees beyond matter…
Breaking down the gate of the heart,
and looking at the unveiled hallowed beauty of the Beloved…
When drips of pain drop one after another…
When love slips through the whirling layers of the heart…
and when misery takes refuge in the swollen lump in the throat…
and when the rays of desire penetrate, yet again,
through the cracks of the barriers of a short sighted will...

Hearing the story of broken hearts…
and the myth of those who are engaged with themselves, tightly…
and those arrogant minds who are trapped

inside the maze of -what should be- and -what should not-
and the myth of those spirits who have broken the cage of their imagination,
and have grafted their kisses to the apex of love on high…
Having the same heart that is oozing blood,
and pouring out in the path of pilgrimage to His presence…
Having the centre of the body tearing apart
and melting away with desire… “O Man of two visions”…

Close one eye ”…
as the drips of pain, pouring into the narrow stream of imagination…
and open the other ”…
as the wailing soul is tearing away the veils of patience in His anticipation…

Close one to the world and all that is therein”…
… Look away from what the eye has ever seen…
… Look away from what is losing colour and what will be losing colour…
… Look away from all that do not bring more than a smile
of ridicule on the lips…

and open the other to the hallowed beauty of the Beloved
… Look up to those who wear a colourless colour on the face of their soul…
… and look up to those in which a web of lies is not spun on their hearts…

Close one eye
and let the pain run down your cheeks…
Open the other
and let the colour of a smile cover your lips…
Let us put away those wooden legs…

Let us open wide the wings of that impatient butterfly…
Let us fly…
