َ* A Sweet Lie

A starving wayfarer, who has lost her way under the heat of the midday sun, rubbing her chest against the dry sands of the desert, she visualises a drop of rain on high…

She struggles to grasp and drink that drop over and over…

Like a black spot, looking for a hiding place across a white piece of paper, she is fearful; perchance that crystal drop of rain falls down in an ocean of mirage…

When she hears the call of her saviour, she is not brave enough to listen to the words he would speak… and she gets lost yet again…

I remember that lie which I, once, was told.

The lie which was sweeter that the bitter taste of many truths...

I remember that lie that I, once, was told by my saviour…

A lie which was softer than the roughness of many honest words…

A lie which was wormer than the coldness of hundreds of unspoken words...

He whispered a lie in my ear which was sweeter than the quench of the thirst of the Sahara

A lie, which flouted much more fluently than the rush of the rivers to the seas…

A lie, which was much more tasteful than the sour taste of a shameful dream…

A lie, which was much more inspiring than the weight of the sin of breaking hearts…

He lied to me, so sweetly, so softly…

Ah… your mouth may be blessed with the sweetness of sugar, lie again…

Ah… your tongue may be blessed with the taste of honey, say it again…

Whisper again that vitalising lie in my ear.

Pour over and over into my ears that sweet wine of lie, until I could hear no more…

Whisper again and again… that sweet lie…

… yet again and again say that pleasing lie…

I remember that lie which he once whispered in my ear…

A lie sweeter that the bitter taste of any truth...

… Softer than the rough edge of an honest word…

He whispered into my ear………………………….. “I love you”…………
